What is in it today

The SwimWin mobile app carries these screens, and which ones you see depends on what you can do — the same capability rules as the web app:

ScreenWho sees it

FamilyAnybody in a household — the same eight cards as the web portal
RosterStaff with roster access
ScheduleStaff with schedule access
Deck check-in (from Schedule)Staff who run the gate and can see the roster

Choosing your club

The first time you open the app it asks for your club's address — the one you use on the web, such as tidalwave.swim.win or your club's own domain. You can also type just the first part (tidalwave). The app checks the address with your club and shows you its name and colours before you go on, so a typo cannot quietly take you to somebody else's club. There is no list of clubs to browse: SwimWin never publishes one.

From then on the app is your club's: its logo or name on the front screen (in the club's own lettering when the app carries that typeface) and its colour on every button. The warning colours — green, amber, red — are the same in every club, on purpose.

More than one club

If you belong to two clubs, add the second from Settings → Club → Add another club, and switch between them there. Each club keeps its own sign-in on your phone, so switching back to a club you are signed in to opens it straight away. Sign out signs you out of the club you are looking at, not the others. Forget removes a club from the phone and signs you out of it. The phone remembers eight clubs; adding a ninth forgets the one you used longest ago, and signs you out of it the same way.

What you can do from your phone

Most of the app reads. These are the things you can do from it, each the same action as on the web, against the same club records:

  • Sign a waiver. Family → Sign waivers lists what your family still owes, per swimmer. Read the waiver, type your legal name, and sign. Only a parent or guardian seat in the family can sign; anyone else sees what is owed and is told who must sign it.

  • Pay what your family owes. The person who runs the family account sees Pay now on the Balance card. It opens Stripe's secure payment page inside the app; your card is typed there, never into SwimWin. When you finish, Stripe closes the page and hands you back to the app, which asks the club whether Stripe has confirmed the payment and says exactly that — waiting for confirmation until it has, payment received once it has. If you leave with Stripe's back link, the app says so; if you close the page yourself, nothing was charged.

  • Manage saved cards and bank accounts. On the same card, the person who runs the family account sees what is saved, can make one the default (the one autopay charges) and remove one. Adding a card opens your club's web page inside the app, where Stripe saves it — you may need to sign in there — and the list updates when you come back.

  • Keep your family's safety information. Family → Safety information (parents and guardians): add, edit, reorder and remove the emergency contacts the desk calls, and open and update each child's medical file and the one-line alert the pool deck sees. A medical file only loads when you tap Open, because the club records every time one is read.

  • Check swimmers in and out on deck. Staff who run the gate and can see the roster get Deck check-in on the Schedule tab (and on each block in it). Find a swimmer, tap once to check them in, tap again to check them out. These are the same check-ins the front desk records — the club's log for the day, not a register for one practice, because block attendance is not built yet. Each tap shows straight away and says whether it has reached the club. With no signal it is kept on the phone as not synced and sent when the connection comes back, exactly once; it is never shown as a refusal. Only the club's own red verdict — for example, no current membership — shows as Not admitted, with the reasons.

  • Accept a family invitation. The invitation email links to your club's web address. With the app installed, tapping it opens the app on that club (adding the club to your phone if it is new) and shows who invited you to which family. If you already use SwimWin at that club, sign in and tap Accept. If you are new to the club, the app opens the club's invitation page so you can create your own login and accept there; back in the app, sign in and your family is on the Family tab.

Links on a club's own domain open the web page. The app can only be opened by links on swim.win addresses (such as tidalwave.swim.win) — a phone learns which addresses an app may claim when the app is installed, and a club's own domain is added long after that. If your club uses its own domain, the invitation opens in the browser and you accept it there; the app picks the new family up the next time it loads.

Everything else — approvals and the back office — is still a web screen.

The family cards are the same cards, fed by the same single request, so what your phone says and what the club says are the same answer.

The platform console is web-only

Super-admin screens are deliberately absent from mobile, and that absence is enforced rather than merely unimplemented. There is no session that produces a platform tab on a phone.

What is not built yet

  • Practice and lesson attendance — the deck records gate check-ins until block attendance exists
  • Approvals and other back-office writes — web screens
  • Push notifications for club announcements

Signing in on mobile

The app never asks for your password itself. Sign in opens your club's own sign-in page in your phone's browser — the same page as on the web — and brings you straight back to the app once you are in. Creating an account works the same way. Because it is the same page, anything the web sign-in asks of you (such as choosing a new password the first time) happens there too.

The app keeps your session in the phone's secure storage. Sign out ends it on the club's side as well, and the next sign-in always asks for your password again — so a shared family phone never opens as the last person who used it.

Same rule as the web: a session belongs to one club. If you belong to two, the app keeps a separate session for each — see More than one club above.
